Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance (BSWQA) is the accountable care organization (ACO) affiliated with Baylor Scott & White Health. It is comprised of more than 6,000 primary and specialty care physician members, 50 hospitals, 95+ post-acute care facilities and other healthcare stakeholders all agreeing to be jointly accountable for improving quality, enhancing the patient experience and reducing healthcare costs.
We develop and use innovative analytic methods to study and improve health care quality and patient safety throughout Baylor Scott & White.
Quality improvement requires measurement and reporting of condition-specific indicators, patient safety measures, patient experience metrics, readmission reports and service line-specific reports with national and local benchmarks.
The Office of the Chief Quality Officer improves the quality of health care across Baylor Scott & White Health and aims to ensure the delivery of value-based healthcare.
The ongoing successes of these health care quality improvement efforts have led to the receipt of several regional and national awards including the National Quality Healthcare Award of the National Quality Forum and the Leapfrog Patient-Centered Care Award. Baylor recently ranked third among 73 multi-hospital health care systems across the United States in overall quality of care according to the American Hospital Association.
The Office of Patient Safety was formed in 2005 at Baylor Health Care System, now part of Baylor Scott & White Health, to address the increasing concern of patient safety across the health care industry.
