Academic Simulation Program

We strive to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery by providing aligned evidence-based simulation training solutions and services to healthcare providers

The Baylor Scott & White Health Academic Simulation Program supports undergraduate and graduate medical education, nursing and allied health professionals, making it a multidisciplinary simulation education program.

The program also provides mobile simulation programs, providing outreach to other Baylor Scott & White Health hospitals throughout Texas.

The program has Level 1 accreditation through the ACS-AEI and is the only program in Texas – and the fifth in the world – accredited through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare in all four areas of Assessment, Research, Teaching/Education and Systems Integration. It is also an FLS, FES and FUSE test center.

  • Baylor Operative Skills Simulation (BOSS) Center

Our eight-station cadaveric lab allows for a varied and extensive selection of courses and labs to take place.

  • Center for Evidence Based Simulation (CEBS)

CEBS is focused on surgical training on all areas of surgery, team training and new technology developments, funded by federal, state and foundation grants.

  • Clinical Simulation Center

Our program uses high and low fidelity mannequins and patient actors to provide learners a risk free environment in which to practice and learn various procedures and methods.

  • Seeger Surgical Simulation Center

The facility consists of 850 square feet with five Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) testing stations and several virtual reality (VR) based simulators.

  • Standardized Patient Program

Our program is designed to provide medical professionals the opportunity to train in a safe, controlled and realistic atmosphere with non-judgmental feedback.
