Vascular Surgery Elective

This elective furthers the educational experience in the clinical care of patients with vascular surgical disorders and improve the clinical acumen of students in recognizing the problems of these patients as individuals.

Baylor Scott & White Health offers this a two-week and a four-week elective in general surgery to fourth-year medical students. Baylor University Medical Center Dallas, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, serves as a clinical training and research campus for Texas A&M Health Science Center (HSC) College of Medicine.

During this elective, students broaden their educational base and enable them to make decisions about the care of patients with vascular surgical problems.

Applicants from LCME-accredited medical schools are given preference in filling positions.

We accept one student per rotation.

How to Apply

We use the AAMC Visting Student Application Service (VSAS) to electronically accept applications, preferred electives and dates.

Applications are accepted beginning May 1.

Because of the volume of applications we receive, we do not offer or schedule an elective until the VSAS application is complete and all required additional documents are received.

For additional information about VSAS at Baylor University Medical Center Dallas, please contact Irene Franklin, at 214.820.3675 or Irene.Franklin@BSWHealth.org.
