Lung Transplant

We have been performing lung transplants for patients with chronic lung disease for more than 25 years.

If your patient has advanced chronic lung disease, the lung transplant program at Baylor Scott & White Health can provide sophisticated diagnostic testing and innovative therapies.

Our team has remained a driving force in lung disease treatment and patient outcomes since 1990 when we performed our first lung transplant. In 2014, the North Texas thoracic team performed 37 lung transplants, which placed it among the top 25 percent of centers nationally.

Services

We treat patients with chronic lung diseases and complex conditions that other centers may deny. Baylor Scott & White also is actively involved in research to improve outcomes post lung transplant surgery.

Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, offers one of the busiest adult extra corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) programs in North Texas and houses the region's only ECMO deployment program.
