Kidney and Pancreas Transplant

Our three-year patient survival outcomes for kidney transplants exceed the national average reported by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients.

The Baylor Scott & White Health kidney transplant program is one of the largest in Texas. In North Texas, alone, we have completed more than 3,900 kidney transplants – more than 190 annually.

Although a living kidney donor typically offers the fastest option for transplant, among many additional benefits, we also offer special programs to help match transplant candidates with donors faster. The Live Donor Program gives patients in need of a kidney a chance to receive a donated kidney from a relative, friend or an anonymous donor.

We also participate in the national Alliance for Paired Donation program, which matches an incompatible donor/recipient pair with another pair in the same situation. Some patients find a match before even having to start dialysis.
