Can I submit an abstract for both a research podium presentation and a poster presentation?

No, only one abstract submission per person will be accepted. However, those not selected for a research podium presentation are automatically placed in a poster session to present a poster. If you do not want to present a podium presentation, you may select the poster presentation option on the submission page. Poster session assignment will be announced on March 5, 2018.

Is there a limit on the number of abstract submissions made by a primary author?

Yes, only one abstract will be allowed per primary author. There is no limit on the number of co-authorships (i.e., or appearing as a contributor). You are allowed to either participate in a podium presentation or poster display, not both.

Are there any formatting considerations when I prepare my abstract?

Any special formatting — bold, underline, italics, superscript, subscript, etc.— will be lost when you copy and paste your abstract into the abstract submission form. Use plain text and limit the word count to 500.

How long and what format should a research podium presentation be?

Research podium presentations will consist of an approximate 12-minute PowerPoint presentation and a 5-minute Q&A. If selected to give a presentation, specific details will be provided (i.e. presentation format, expected order of presenters, available audio, etc.) Research podium presentation selections will be made on March 5, 2018.

What are the selection criteria for my abstract?

Abstracts will be selected for a research podium presentation by a selection committee of volunteer faculty researchers.

Is there a size limitation for my poster?

Yes. Your poster must fit on the provided 4'x6' rolling display board.

What is the process for poster set-up and take-down?
