Breast Imaging Fellowship

Our goal is to prepare fellows for supervisory roles in busy breast imaging practices and competency in high-level breast interventions.

The Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine - Scott & White Breast Imaging Fellowship is a one-year program that provides training in all aspects of breast imaging and breast interventions. Our program emphasizes practice skills gained through one-on-one teaching.

We accept one fellow per year.

Curriculum

Our facility, which is part of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple, includes:

  • Digital mammography
  • Tomosynthesis
  • Dedicated breast ultrasound
  • Prone stereotactic imaging
  • 3T breast MRI

Interventions we offer include:

  • Stereotactic vacuum-assisted biopsy
  • Ultrasound guided biopsy
  • Axillary node biopsy
  • Seed localization
  • MRI guided biopsy

We have an active tumor registry and multi-disciplinary breast team. Fellows participate in weekly tumor board. The fellowship includes 12 months in breast imaging with one day each week devoted to covering general radiology services (abdominal, chest, ultrasound or ED imaging), so that the participants can maintain their non-breast imaging skills.

Opportunities for research are also available.

  • Train at one of U.S. News & World Report's top hospitals in Texas

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple is a 640-bed teaching and research hospital with a Level I trauma center.
