Objectives

Designed to provide updates in initiating appropriate treatment and management of heart failure patients.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should understand:
  • Calculate CHA2DS2VASC scores
  • Describe relative CVA risk associated with CHA2DS2VASC scores
  • Identify bleeding risks for patients
  • Discuss when LAA occluder technology may be used as alternative therapy
  • Review research showing benefits of medical therapy for HTN to prevent CVA, Heart Failure, Renal Failure and MI
  • Discuss successful algorithms for medication use, including titration and selection of agents
  • Explain how lifestyle modification (diet/exercise) can improve control of HTN
