This educational activity is designed for professionals and lay persons involved in the care of the of the dying and bereaved, including physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, counselors, chaplains/clergy, hospice workers, allied health professionals, funeral directors and volunteers.

Accreditation and Affiliations

Accreditation

The A. Webb Roberts Center for Continuing Medical Education of Baylor Scott & White Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

 

Continuing Education Credit

Physicians - The A. Webb Roberts Center for Continuing Medical Education of Baylor Scott & White Health designates this live activity for a maximum of 9 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This includes 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for Friday’s Session and 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for Saturday’s Optional Workshop.

Social Workers – Social Work CEU Credits pending review. Psychologists – Baylor Scott & White Health is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Scott & White maintains responsibility for this program and its content. This program provides up to 9 CE credits, including 6 CE credits for Friday’s session and 3 CE credits for the Optional Workshops on Saturday. Credit is based on a session by session basis.

Licensed Professional Counselors – LPC Board Rule 681.174(6) states that programs which are approved or offered by a "nationally recognized professional organization in the mental health field..." (i.e., American Medical Association) are acceptable for LPC CE credit. This program is approved for 9 hours of CE credit. This includes 6 credit hours for Friday’s session and 3 additional credit hours for the Optional Workshop on Saturday.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists – Scott & White has been approved as a continuing education sponsor for the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists. The program on Friday is approved for 6 hours of CE credit. An additional 3 hours of CE credit is approved for the Optional Workshop on Saturday.

Chaplains – Association of Professional Chaplains states that credit recognized by approved providers, eg. Continuing Medical Education, can be counted for continuing education credit for chaplains. This will provide 6 Category 1 credits for Friday's Session and 3 credits for Saturday's Optional Workshop.

Psychologists – Baylor Scott & White Health is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Baylor Scott & White Health maintains responsibility for this program and its content. This program provides up to 9 CE credits, including 6 DE credits for Friday’s session and 3 CE credits for the Optional Workshops on Saturday. Credit is based on a session by session basis.

The registration fee includes the educational session on Friday, continental breakfast, lunch, refreshment breaks and an electronic syllabus. On Saturday, there will be morning coffee and a refreshment break.


Cancellation and Refund Policy

Refunds (less $50 administrative fee) will be provided to registrants who cancel their registration up to two weeks prior to the course if cancellation by registrant becomes necessary.
Baylor Scott & White Health reserves the right to cancel this offering up to three weeks prior to the course.
